Hamden CT – One Person’s Trash is Another One’s Treasure / Vintage Appliances
Remodel and Improvement of Hamden Property
We were hired to remodel and improve a home in Hamden, CT, over the winter.
After walking through a house for the first time, one of the first things we do is rent a dumpster and get rid of the trash. This time, we were greeted with a surprise—the basement contained appliances from the 1950’s. We (those of us of a certain age), took a moment to reminisce… “Oh, my parents had a kitchen table just like that!” “Look at that refrigerator! Wow!” etc.
A linoleum floor… a bathroom with well-maintained tile and fixtures, BUT they are a royal blue, or pink, or teal. We briefly discussed trends in an earlier blog—one must appeal to the masses when selling a house, so… the 1950’s must remain in the past.
Our crew is in the process of remodeling and improving this Hamden ranch-style house, and these pictures above in the scrolling window are just a few samples of what we found. As soon as we’re finished, we’ll post pictures of the remodeled and updated kitchen and bathroom.
Oh, by-the-way, the refrigerator was sold, and the rest….
